A statue of Lincoln, located on the town square, is the focal point of downtown Hodgenville. This area got a fresh, new look in 2011 as part of the nation’s celebration of Lincoln’s 200th birthday. Since 1954, every Saturday night has found people making their way to Hodgenville to enjoy the Lincoln Jamboree, one of the nation’s best country music shows. Owner and emcee, Joel Ray Sprowles, is a master at providing quality, family entertainment. Strong schools are a source of pride in Hodgenville. Local students have consistently achieved high test scores and these scores continue to improve as teachers and administrators embrace new methods and take responsibility for taking good schools and making them better.
